Following a conversation with one of the editors of the 'News Letter' (one of the leading daily newspapers in Northern Ireland), our 'Consider Christ' Campaign was featured on the front page today.
This is tremendous free advertising for the Campaign - and will bring it to the attention of 10s of thousands of people, even before the official launch of the Crusade on Monday.
As an interesting aside, the News Letter is the oldest English language general daily newspaper still in publication in the world, having first been printed in 1737.
A message preached at the Prayer Meeting in Londonderry FPC on Wednesday, 2 September 2009 ... with 5 days to go before the launch day for the 'Consider Christ' Campaign.
It's rather amazing to think that 7 months have passed since the initial idea for an advertising campaign was first mooted in Presbytery. Now we have only 5 days left until 'launch date'!
Monday, 7 September is the official date when:
•40+Billboards and 60Shoplites will appear at various locations across the country;
• The Royal Mail ‘Door-to-Door’ distribution starts – 741,000Tracts will be delivered over the course of the week commencing 7 September ... one for every residential property in Northern Ireland.
NB. The launch of our 'Consider Christ' website is getting closer! The designer received more material today and was looking for codes he can use to load the entire site onto our server.
I have received confimation from Every Home Crusade / Revival Movement Association that they have managed to meet the Royal Mail's deadline for delivery of 750,000 copies of Tract #1 to their Depot in Mallusk.
(The photo displayed above was taken on the Bank Holiday Monday evening night-shift... you'd hardly guess that from the smiles on the faces of the workers!!)
These tracts are scheduled for delivery to every home in Northern Ireland, commencing Monday 7 September 2009. Look out for one coming through your door – and please let us know re delivery date.
A massive "thank you" is due to Samuel Adams and his team at Every Home Crusade. The production of this tract on time has compelled them to operate special night-shifts in addition to the regular day hours to ensure that our tract is on schedule.
While many others enjoy a holiday today, people working on our Campaign are functioning at 'All Systems Go!'
Over at the new premises for the Every Home Crusade / Revival Movement Association, the printing presses are completing the 800,000 copies of Tract #1 – the deadline for delivery of this leaflet to the Royal Mail depot is tomorrow!
We are extremely grateful to the manager of the Revival Movement Association, Samuel Adams, and his staff for 'punching the hours' on our behalf as deadlines are dropping in front of our faces from all areas.
In the Vision Solutions NI premises on Dee Street (soon to move to the former home of the Revival Movement Association on Clara Street, Belfast), work is being done on a couple of fronts:
• Jonny Aiken is finalising the designs for billboards, shoplites and bus adverts;
• Stephen Costello is bringing together the elements for our website – www.considerchrist.info
I'm rooted to the spot at home ... garnering some further info for the website, approving the designs that are coming through, contacting advertising companies, etc..
A sermon on 1 Thessalonians 5:5-6 by Rev. Paul Thompson from Mount Merrion Free Presbyterian Church preached on the theme of our 'Doing Something More For God' Campaign.
Tune in, and be encouraged to maximise your time for the glory of God.
