Let Your Light So Shine!

I checked out the effectiveness of this billboard by night.

Coming on 12 midnight – and the light is still shining!

It's wonderful to witness the truth of the Gospel displayed in this fashion on such a major route out of the city.

Reminds me of the little chorus we sing in our Children's Meeting:

Let it shine over Londonderry, I'm gonna let it shine ... .

May God be pleased to illuminate some darkened hearts by means of this Board!

  1. Good to see the gospel going out - billboards in NI are strange looking with the vertical slats. In America, ours are one single sheet that is plastered to a solid surface. The slats make the smaller print hard to read (like the web address).

What I'd do is google the terms "consider christ" after I saw one of these. A google search for that string is interesting...

  2. Most of our billboards are exactly like yours.

Believe it or not, the 'slatted' billboards in NI are in the prime locations, usually illuminated, and cost £500-£600 to place an advert on them for 2 x weeks (and that is before poster design / print).

The reason is 3 people are advertising at the one time; the board constantly rotates. I estimate it changes every 5 seconds. However, the moving billboards do attract additional attention.

  3. The billboard at Ballyclose Street, Limavady (posting below) would be close to the US billboard style.
